According to TechRepublic.com (a highly reliable source of technical news), Google released the 13th major iteration of the Android platform (Aug. 15, 2022). This release comes just slightly earlier in the year than did Android 12 and serves to add some serious polish to the big changes that came along. As of today, Aug 20th, my personal Samsung S22 Ultra is still running Android 12.
